With freight handling of more than 7.5 million tonnes annually by ship, rail and truck – of which close to 1.5 million tonnes is via 2,400 shippings – bayernhafen Regensburg is by far the largest harbour in Bavaria and among the “Top Ten” inland ports in Germany. In relation to the whole of Europe it is one of the most central hubs for freight transport.  

Ninety companies are based here in an area of approximately 175 hectares providing some 2000 people with jobs.
